Let’s rewind to one week after my wedding to Matt. I had called it “the wedding of my dreams.” Matt and I had been together for three years. He was kind, dependable, and someone I thought I could trust completely. As a graphic designer, I had always taken care of my own finances.
I thought he admired that about me. He used to say he loved my ambition and independence.
